Comprehensible input for me has these qualities: - Speaking slowly - Pauses and clear breaks in-between sentences and ideas - Lots of visual communication - Repetition of new words in different contexts - Simple short sentences with one or two main verbs or nouns - Lots of non-verbal communication - Mostly common-use words and phrases I might recognize from other studies It's exactly the same as having a friend willing to teach me a thing or two. The best benefit is practicing what I have already learned. I like to have a little bit of casual CI when I can't study. It's better than nothing. It's like when I learn art or music, it can't be all study. I teach piano and I always recommend at least 10% lazy and loose study where you just have some fun. At least 10% to 20% should be hardcore drills and exercises. The remaining time should be normal study. It's about maintaining a realistic routine that you can keep up consistently. So, yes I definitely agree that CI should be more of an activity to do for fun or for practice, but should not be 100% of your time with the language. Or anything for that matter. People learn their native language in a combination of both ways. I think CI helps with consistency, memorization, and immersion.

Funny aside: Many years ago, my high school Spanish teacher - with tongue firmly planted in cheek - told us that you don't use "le la" or "les la" or any other double L combination because it sounded to Hawaiian. You're welcome.

People say we don't have two to be verbs or two past tense. But technically we do. It's just that spanish breaks them out into separate headings They just exist as a merger 😊

One of the reason I wound not subscribe to the repeating the "cuál es tu nomber" 100 to a 1000 times logic. Is bc it would not work. Think of the other thousands of set phrases and multiply them by that number (100-1000) a day. There would not be enough time to speak even your native tongue 😂 As one advances in another language, the more often phrase like: "cómo has estado" "cómo le/te va" etc will stick naturally without much effort. Thanks for your video thought You have highlighted some good information 😊

Why do Spanish verbs that end in *AR* now end with “o” instead of the grammatically correct past participle? I noticed this in Reggaton, Merengue, Bachata songs like Karol G’s CAIRO, for example “Alejao = alejado”; enamorao = enamorado, dejao = dejado; ganao = ganado, pasao = pasado etc. Can you explain it to me if this only happens in verbs with AR or all types of verbs?

Most of my relationships have e with native Spanish speakers so I have home exposure 😂. I am thinking about doing 5 weeks of immersion in Medellin in a program that is one-on-one and conversationally based. My goal is jump start my conversational abilities. I've felt that "para" (generally) refers to a future change and "por" refers to something in the past or already exists. Let's see if the video agrees.... yeah, kind of. "In order to" talks about the future and "because of" talks about something that's already happened.

Thank you for the great video however, I am not sure how it applies to the following sentences. I tried the 'phrase rule' but I guess I don't understand the Spanish language enough to really get it. Here the sentences are: El calcio reduce el riesgo DE QUE el bebé nazca con problemas de peso. Hay señales de alarma DE QUE un niño está siendo abusado. No hay ninguna garantía DE QUE esta estrategia pueda funcionar.
